Morning Pages

About a decade ago, I belonged to a writer's group that used the book, the Artist's Way by Julia Cameron. One of the primary exercises is the use of the morning pages, which is you write 3 pages of whatever every morning, without fail. I guess this blog is turning into my morning pages. However, unlike the concept of the morning pages-which is supposed to be stream of consciousness and unedited. This does have a bit of a filter, and is somewhat edited...
Despite the difficult start to yesterday-yelling at the Little Man because he could not get himself motivated in the morning, running 10 minutes late, not being particularly motivated myself-things did improve. We played Hot Wheels and it was fun. I was pleasantly suprised. The down side was the fact he kept on winning. He got a Wii game of Hot Wheels for Christmas, which is the game of the season. It inspired him to bring out the real hot wheels, that he hasn't played with in literally years. I rather like these little cars, and they are very intricately detailed. He drew a track on a card table and it was a lot of fun. I even got some dog training in, since Sonny has seemed to have forgotten a lot of his commands. We've had a lot of training issues lately-stealing and eating things, and I fed into it by giving him a treat to get said item back. Even the Little Man calls him Marley (based on the Bad Dog Marley kids series.) Little Man also says that he's on the naughty list and Santa won't bring him any presents. But that needs to stop because he's getting fat and we're going through treats like there's no tomorrow. I've been working on getting stuff back treat free, and it seems to be working. *fingers crossed* How can you get mad at a puppy dog that knocks you over with kisses?
Its Tuesday, and there's not much on the agenda for today. Work, play with the little man, chicken paella for dinner, do some laundry, tidy up, start stressing about snow and the Big Man having to drive to Omaha in it on Wednesday...
but life is good
Chicken Paella
1 c diced cooked chicken
1 box Spanish rice mix
1/2 c tomato sauce
assorted veggies

Cook Spanish rice according to directions on package, add chicken, sauce and veggies and heat through.
