Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. Margaret D. Nadauld

Yoga is seeing life the way it is-Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
Tonight’s class focuses on grounding. After a few weeks off from teaching and being on vacation, I am feeling restless and drifting around. To counteract that, grounding into yoga will help alleviate that anxiety and restlessness I am feeling. If you are new to practice, this is a great flow to introduce your body to feeling rooted and reaching for the stars and sky.
As with any physical exertion, warm ups are essential. As always, we start with the breath and end with the breath. We will practice several breathing techniques to open our lungs and to be prepared to deepen into poses. Gently we will move into asanas or poses that will get the blood flowing-forward fold, cat, cow and cobra are great ways to practice for sun salutations.
Tonight’s flow is based on the simple, yet profound, mountain pose. We will explore the tree, forward bends, triangles, pyramids, warriors in battle, dogs galore, cobbler’s pose, lord of the fishes, goddesses and more. Our ending meditation will take us back to the roots and ground us to the earth.
A great way to rehydrate after yoga is with infused water: fill a glass with ice cold water, add lemon slices, mint or basil, drink. Healthy and refreshing
