I saw the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead recently on Netflix. It was rather eye opening. The premise is an Australian man who is overweight and battling an autoimmune disorder turns to juicing and traveling across
While I am not about to do the same, it did intrigue me about the health benefits of juice. Some of hippie dippy, yoga loving, crystal wearing friends have juiced for years, I am a little tardy to the party. I swear the Big Man had bought a juicer back in the day, but he doesn’t remember that.
I was making blender juices, which are fine except there’s a lot of straining (and more mess involved). So I broke down and got a juicer. I couldn’t resist. It was on sale at Target for half off the original price (great bargain, right?). I couldn’t wait to try it.
It’s a lot easier than making blender juice. No mess, no fuss. And now I’ve got pulp to make doggie snacks with!
So far my favorite is my good morning greens juice:
Handful of kale
1 pear
4 carrots
½ sweet potato
That’s it. So good, so easy. So yummy.
