Post Christmas

The blizzard has set in. The Big Man wound up snow blowing TWICE and the snow continues to pile up. This reminds me of snow when I was a kid. I was trying to convince the Little Man to go out and play but he showed no interest. Try again tomorrow I suppose. He has played each and every game he got for Christmas at least twice, as well as making up his own game of kicking a ball and acting out either a kitchen thing or building thing. He is so creative-he made pepperoni peas and blueberry soup. I built an airship and Darth Vader. We played Sponge Bob Bingo, Checkers and Tic Tac Toe. He read me all the books he got for Christmas, which is so very sweet. Now we're searching in our closet for missing scrabble letters. Too funny. He has a love of words and letters and reading, which I think is awesome.
Tomorrow, other than playing in the snow, I think he & I are going to create art. I think we will make Christmas trees out of construction paper, glitter and pompoms. I want to print out pictures and start scrapping this holiday.
I went on the Becky Higgins website (www.beckyhiggins.com) and she has an awesome project for 2010-Project Life. I love the concept-its a continuation of the Project 365 from last year (I think I made it to day 10) and its a good way to get back into my scrapping. I never got out of scrapping, I just don't do it as much as I like to and I know that the Little Man loves the end result.
Little Man has a strong creative streak and actually is a very talented artist. He has a lot of potential, its just starting to channel that a little more. The D word-discipline. But that will come in time-we're only 7 and have a lifetime ahead of us.
My other goal for this weekend is to get some good sleep. I need it and I think a lot of my issues revolve around a continued lack of sleep. Its not the hours I sleep, its not good quality sleep-to quote Metallica, sleep with one eye open, gripping the pillow tight. I need to shut things off and just drift off...after making room for myself on the bed, repositioning the big man the puppy dog, etc. etc.
But I digress...I am thinking I might even break out the apron and BAKE tomorrow. Heck I might even make those little round balls that my husband loves, or pizzelles if I am feeling adventurous.
Time to get the Little Man off to bed, and maybe crochet a little bit before going to bed myself. Chocolate milk, a story, prayers, snuggle time and then lights out.
