Hot Patootie

Over the last few weeks, I have been eating more at home and relying less and less on takeout and convenience foods. Despite it being the holidays and cookies all around, I have lost weight. Not just one or two pounds, but a bakers dozen worth of weight. I am not seriously working out, I’m not doing anything really different, except I am relying on home cooked meals and not take out or heavily processed foods. My face looks better, my hair is shinier and important for living on the northern plains, my skin isn’t as dry and flaky as it normally is.
Hot patootie, bless my soul.
Just a few simple changes and I’m feeling and looking better…hmmm I must be onto something here.
I’ve used heavy cream and lots of cheese in a very decadent quiche.

I baked up a storm.
I am still recovering from my broken leg.
I’ve made cream cheese chicken, used Alfredo sauce and indulged in a lot of comfort foods.

The big difference? From scratch. Want to know a secret? Many of these recipes are just as convenient as opening a box or going through the drive through. I’ve pinned many of my favorites on my my DIY food board
