I have never bought a cat or dog, I have adopted. Or should I say, they adopted me. Growing up, one of my neighbors was passionate about cat rescue. I would go over to their house and play with the cats or help feed them. She fostered dozens and dozens of cats, kittens and families. It instilled a passion in me to advocate for animals. That has never wavered, and I am passing that onto my son.
In Sioux Falls, we have several rescue groups ranging from the Humane Society to breed specific to a great group called All Cats Rescue (http://www.allcatsrescue.org/)who do some pretty awesome work. They are volunteer based, fostering organization that works out of their houses. They provide foster homes for cats as they await their fur-ever homes.
The need exceeds the space.
In order to provide this amazing work, they rely on donations (food, litter, money). This weekend they are hosting a rummage and bake sale. I made better for you cookie balls.
1/2 c whole grain oats
1/2 c almond flour
1 c chobani
1/4 c cocoa powder
1 egg
1/2 c milk
1/3 c agave nectar
Preheat oven to 350
Mix ingredients well. Drop by spoonfuls into a mini muffin pan. Bake 20 minutes. Let cool. Enjoy!
Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. Margaret D. Nadauld
