Korean beef

I love Asian food. There are so many different combinations and permutations to try. However, I've been stuck in a rut with making the same boring stir fry. I saw a recipe on Pinterest for Korean beef, and pinned it for future reference. The other night I needed to try something new, so I went back to it for inspiration.

It's super easy and super fast.

1lb ground beef or tvp
2 carrots shredded
3 scallions diced
1 c peas
2 c cooked rice
1/2 c soy sauce
1/2 c water
3 tbsp sriachia sauce
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 knob ginger grated

Brown the ground beef. While it's cooking, make the sauce. Whisk sugar into sauce sauce. Add sriachia and water. Drain the meat. Add sauce, sesame seeds, carrots, peas and ginger. Heat through. Serve over rice.

Pinning!

My name is Dee and I am a Pinterest addict. I do pin some useless stuff-snarky comments, wedding stuff even though I've been married for 10 years-but there are a lot of great things I've pinned that are great tips.
Here are a few of my current favorites:

Getting rid of that boy bathroom smell. I live with a bunch of boys (one big, one small and lots of friends)and keeping the bathroom super clean is an ongoing challenge. This pin has a simple solution that actually works!

I have towels that vary between 71/2 (when we bought our house) and 10 years ago (towels that we got for our shower & engagement), and needless to say they have taken a beating. I came across this pin, tried it and was shocked at how easy it was! My towels look brand new.

I'm always looking for an easy way to clean my bathtubs. I don't want to spend all day scrubbing. When I say I've tried everything, I have. Really. I don't like using a lot of chemicals, Nd many of these convenient cleaners are toxic. Who would have thought a simple solution of vinegar and dish soap would work the best?

I made these sliders for dinner last night. The Big Man thought they were a big hit!

I'm making a conscious effort to eat a healthy breakfast every day. One easy way to meet that goal is baked oatmeal. I instead added blackberries instead of blueberries and it came out cake like. Yum!

Ochie Chiun

I love, love LOVE Pinterest! I unfortunately can waste a lot of time on there! (Are you on Pinterest? If so let's be friends! I, of course, am Mommydom) it reminds me, as does Etsy, that there are some incredibly talented people out there!
The other day I was looking for something different to do with my hair. I was attending my friend's ordination to the priesthood (Episcopal), but prior to that I had to run errands and be a mom. I wanted something that looked pretty but would last all day.
I came across a cute braided curly half up do that was perfect for my needs.

I started by moussing my hair.
Then I used a small barrel curling iron, lightly spraying each section, to keep the curl.
Do not brush, so they look like waves!
Take the front pieces of your hair and braid, pinning it back with a clip.
And...your are done!
Mine didn't exactly look like picture on Pinterest, but I was quite pleased with the results!
