stand Strong

Last week, the Little Man had Vacation Bible School

For me it was a little bittersweet.

He will be going into the fifth grade next year, so this was his last year as a participant. I remember when he first went in Kindergarten, and am amazed at how quickly the years have sped by.

This year’s theme was Kingdom Rock, and he learned to stand strong for God.

He learned the stories of Esther and Nehemiah.

He played games.

He sang songs.

He shared his faith.

He had a great time with the other kids.

Above the Clouds

Our VBS theme this year was Sky-where our kiddos learned that everything is possible with God. Since I work full time during the day, as do most of my volunteers, we offer our program in the evening.
Most kiddos wouldn't get a chance to eat before coming, so we provide dinner. My parish has some pretty awesome cooks, and our kiddos were well fed.
I made, as dessert, clouds and sky jello.
To make you need:
4 boxes blue jello
Water
Cool whip

Make the jello, following the jiggler directions on the package. Pour into 9x13 pan, let cool & set. Cut into cloud shapes and put into cups. Top with cool whip and serve

Cloudbusting

Last week was VBS week in my world. This year's theme was Sky! Which was tons of fun. The kiddos learned the message that everything is possible with God.
Little Man got to star in the opening skits, which made my heart soar.
Instead of crafts, this year we did science experiments. One that was a huge hit was clouds in a cup.

To make, you need:
Shaving cream
White glue
White craft paint
Different colored craft paint or food coloring
Plastic cups
Water

Mix 2 parts shaving cream and 1 part each glue & paint. Stir well, let sit 5 minutes. Fill the cup 3/4 full with water. Scoop the cloud mixture onto the top of water. Drizzle paint or food coloring through the clouds to make colorful rain.
