healthy living part 1

Well...its week one of me trying to be healthy. Some mixed success-and I am committed to this. The hardest thing for me is that I am hungry all the time at work. (doesn't help that there is a deli right next to my office and I am treated to all sorts of smells all day long)But instead of junk, I've been trying to eat better. I took sliced apples with peanut butter, grapefruit, cucucmbers and goat cheese and carrot sticks with hummus as snacks. That worked really well because at least I'm doing something better than chips and soda. And I didn't drink soda all week at work (this is a first!) I had a salad with lunch every day too, which was quite yummy. I did go for the carrot cake bar yesterday (too good to pass up)
The other positive that I did was I exercised everyday last week. I did the treadmill. I lifted weights (not heavy but its a start) and of course I did my yoga daily dozen. I took a few walks on my breaks too which was a lot better than just sitting at my desk.
So...I didn't see the scale budge really. I did have more energy and felt better. I definately slept better. Baby steps I suppose. I didn't get this way overnight and I don't think things will change overnight either.
