booty-licious

Yesterday it became obvious that Humpy has to go. The Little Man wanted me to play on the floor with him, and I really couldn't because of Humpy. Can we say quality of life issues?
Yesterday the Little Man had an opthalmologist appointment. He was born with severe strasbismus-which is a fancy name for crossed eyes. He had several surgeries when he was younger and there's a whole routine of things that were to be done to strengthen his eyes. He wore glasses for a year (and looked so cute in them too, I might add). Then he was supposed to wear a patch but that did not work out so well. The patche spent more time on the wall than on his eye. I drew the line with the drops that we were supposed to use to blur out his good eye to strengthen his bad eye...no thank you on that one.
I was dreading the appointment yesterday because I was thinking that there was something else dreadful to try. But au contraire! My son's eyes have miraculously healed. Not completely, but to the point that we are not needing to be overly concerend about the strasbisumus anymore. Woo hoo! A year ago they were talking about another possible surgery and now he's been healed. Miracles do happen!
It's Thursday and the week is starting to wind down. I have two friends from church coming over tonight, and we are going to plan the silent auction for the youth group pilgrimage fund raiser. I have to throw dinner in the crockpot (saucy chicken over rice). I do have a little tidying up to do too before the ladies come over tonight, but its more cleaning up hot wheels cars and chew toys than anything else.
After the eye doctor, the Little Man & I went to HyVee to pick up a few things. He got his free cookie from the bakery and was quite happy to wander around with me. It was great, and we had such a nice time together. He was upset though, that The Cat in the Hat dvd had to go back to the library. We did get over it somewhat, but it was enough for him to be a little cranky :)
There is something about Wednesdays that are just miserable for me. Part of it is because the Big Man works this insane 12+ hour day, and when he gets home, he's exhausted. So, there's this crash of tiredness and low energy in the house. Add to it the fact that it just seems like everything crashes around Wednesday as well-the lack of energy, stuff that doesn't get done either in the morning or before bed. I am conscious of these issues & am working on it. Its just hard to start making all these changes at once.
Little Man is so excited to wear his pedometer and he is challenging me to have more steps than him. I guess I need to get some steps going if I am going to live up to this challenge!
