Kicking into High Gear

Its another Monday, and I am trying to get the whole week off to a great start. My house is clean and tidy, laundry is caught up, I had some creative time this weekend and I actually feel great. This is highly unusual for me. I could have stood a lot more sleep, but that's ok.
I tackled some of the projects that have been on my master to do list forever it seems. One was cleaning the oven. I am so glad I did it because it looks phenomenal! And I took care of organizing two kitchen cabinets that were bugging me too. I did my nails, played with my son and even scrapped! It felt awesome. Ordered the portrait package from the little man's valentine photo session (I can't wait to pick them up next weekend). Took care of the procrastination I've been dealing with for the last several months. Its like going around with the weight of the world on you by not taking care of things. And I feel so much lighter today. I just posted the bags of clothes I decluttered from my closet onto freecycle, and hopefully they will be gone soon!
This week has another killer schedule, but its all good. Tonight I have a Pizza Bingo meeting tonight to finalize everything for that event. Tomorrow is our foster parent licensing renewal & inspection. Wednesday is church. Thursday I have a meeting at our house for the Silent Auction at church. Friday I have to bake a bunch of brownies, muffins and banana bread. One batch of brownies is for the March of Dimes open house on Saturday, one batch is for the bake sale at the little man's concert next Tuesday, and one is for us to enjoy. The muffins and bread are for coffee hour at church on Sunday. I am one of the hostesses for coffee hour this month which means lots of phone calls and scheduling for people as well as making sure it all runs smoothly.
I have always loved to bake, and for a long time I had stopped. Its like I was walking away from who I truly am and trying to pretend to be someone else. Little Man definately loves when I bake and do all that stuff. He's very happy when Mommy is very happy. Its great when I have the energy and stamina to keep up with him.
He has a sticker book where you have to find the picture that the sticker belongs on-and there's dinosaurs and insects and all that. He and I sat and worked on the book for over a half and hour last night. We had so much fun working together. The big man & I agree that we need to challenge him intellectually every day by having him do some sort of worksheets to improve his skills.
Speaking of improving skills time to hit the treadmill and get my day going. Happy Monday!
