Soak Up the Sun

This week, the Little Man and I are on the swimming pool tour of Sioux Falls. Thursday night, we went to Laurel Oaks, which is the pool we usually go to. They have a bunch of slides and stuff for kids, and its a lot of fun. Last night, we went to the newest pool, Drake Springs, which was like a mini-water park. There is a kids area, complete with spray park, a lazy river and a crazy tube ride water slide.
Little Man was terrified to try the lazy river. I mean, terrified. So, I did what most mommies would do...I bribed him. Nothing escapes the lure of Hot Wheels. So, with a deal struck for 3 Hot Wheels cars to try the lazy river. Once again, mommy knows best and Little Man had a blast. In fact, so much fun, I couldn't get him to stop. I even went down the tube slide, which I have to admit was a lot of fun. A lot of fun!!!
The other thing I did was I left my BlackBerry in the car. This way, no temptation. It was a little anxiety provoking, since I am such a crackberry addict. Little Man was so excited because I was able to focus on him the whole time. We laughed and had fun.
Today, we have a lot of excitement planned. Another pool trip, but before hand, a picnic in the park. I'm very excited about that, because we haven't done that in a long time. Then swim all afternoon, come home change and eat dinner. Tonight is the last night of Jazzfest, and Little Man wants to go. So off we will go! Actually, if it happens, it happens and if not, that's ok too. I don't know how tired we will all be after our afternoon out.
While we will be frolicking in the park and in the water, the Big Man will be painting. The soon to be craft/play room is almost ready to move the furniture in. And that means, it will be out of my living room, and that is very exciting. Its like I am living an episode of Hoarders, with these little paths to get around. I feel stressed by it, and I honestly don't know how people can live in those messy homes. I am looking forward to moving my pared down craft supplies into there, so I can actually do something and complete projects. I also am looking forward to having space to relax.
Before we go anywhere today (and somehow I need to fit into my day a grocery shopping trip)I need to get the kitchen cleaned up, and a little bit of laundry done, so we have some clothes to wear. I also need to get a pedicure in, because I like having pretty feet. Actually, I like feeling pretty period. There's nothing wrong with being like that either. Basically, there's nothing wrong with taking care of yourself-and that includes eating well, exercising and looking good.
The Little Man told me last night that I was pretty, and it made my heart sing. Basically, for the last few weeks, I have been making more of an effort to take care of me. Actually, its been easy. Once I "broke the spell", it came naturally. Things just fell into place, and all is well in my world.
I have to figure out what we will have for our picnic, and go shopping. I am looking forward to spending the day with my little man and soaking up the sun.
