Run Run Rudolph

One of our favorite things to do this time of year is to drive around and look at Christmas lights. Since I started driving, it's been a passion of mine during the holidays. I spent my later teenage and early adulthood in northern New Jersey, where there seems to be a few communities that try to outdo each other with over the top displays. I am convinced that the town of Lodi, NJ in the late 1980's were single handedly trying to signal aliens with the amount of lights confined in a small space.
Thankfully, most people have moved on from the hideously overcrowded lawns with light up plastic figurines to choreographed, synchronized displays.
I still love to drive around with the boys and check out what people have done.
Basically we load the car up, have a few to go cups of hot cocoa, some Christmas cookies and we are off. One of the local radio stations has a guide to the "candy cane lanes" so you know where to go.
The Big Man is in charge of our personal lighting display and he does an outstanding job. Its quite tastefully done, if I may brag. Some other folks, not so much...but we were made differently!
