As I transition from chemical laden products to DIY, I get to experiment with scents that work for our home. I have a pre-teen boy (and his posse) , a husband as well as a dog and cat. There are putrid smells everywhere. I am also the lone female in the house, so fruity florals don’t fly. After a lot of trial and error, I found a blend that smells great and covers the stink.
Baking soda
Sage leaves
Rosemary sprigs
Juniper or pine essential oil (optional)
Crush/grind the herbs. Mix with baking soda and add in essential oils (if using). Store in a shaker container.
To use: sprinkle on carpet, let sit for 15-20 minutes, then vacuum
