Happy Happy Joy Joy

Yesterday was an amazing day. Little Man went to a birthday party at Elite Flips & Inflatables in Tea, and it was great. We are all about the inflatables...and even Mommy got on them! I went down the giant slide a bunch of times with him, then I went in the bouncy house, and even tried the obstacle course (which I got stuck on). I think he saw a side of his mommy he's never seen before. When I got stuck, Little Man came over to me and said, "Take my hand Mommy, I'll help you". It was so sweet despite the embarrasment of getting stuck. He had the best time too.
After the excitement of the birthday party, I went to go volunteer usher for the James Cotton concert at the Orpheum Theater. It was an amazing show and I really enjoyed it. And I got a chance to volunteer too, on a different level. A win win situation for everyone. I usher again for the Brubraker brothers in April, which should be a good concert too.
The Boys had a great night at home. It was so cute, the Little Man stayed up until I got home (I literally walked in the door and he went off to bed). I am one lucky mommy that I've got such a great kid.
Today, not so much going on....have some laundry & housework to do (the usual), feed the freezer (lasagna, stuffed shells & manicotti) chocolate candies to make for the Little Man's class party, start on the Valentine's day cards for his class (at least design them), maybe scrap a little and finish the Christmas album. Type the PTO meeting minutes & get them sent off. Watch some football (especially my beloved J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets). For dinner we are having kielbasa, pierogies (and I at least am having) fried sauerkraut with brownies for dessert. Yummy! Prep for tomorrow-pack lunch (Little Man has no school and Grandmah is coming over) for myself, pack my tote bag for work (along with scrapbooking supplies and reading material), prep stuff for dinner (3 bean crockpot chili, cheesy jalenpeno corn bread, elbows, and tres leches cake)for Monday. At least there's no homework or anything to worry about (save that for Monday night)
Its amazing how much stuff I cram into a day, but I have to. I really need to use the weekends to get done what I don't during the week (which is most stuff)plus try to spend as much time as I can with my son, and take care of me, and rest too. My Sunday afternoon nap is sacred. Its something I look forward to every week. I do take other naps but there's something about the Sunday one that is really special. I like to snuggle up in bed, usually the puppy dog joins me, and we cuddle. Its just very refreshing and rejuvenating. I started the tradition way back when I was single and living in Cranbury. I'd come home from church, make brunch, put my sweats on and read the New York Times, then doze off on the couch, usually with my cat in my lap, watching football. Now my life is a little different but the nap is still there.
I really have to get the day going. Little Man & I are watching Max & Ruby, having our morning wake up beverages (coffee for me, chocolate milk for him) starting the day off. Puppy dog is in dreamland on the couch, snoring away (sometimes I think he needs a CPAP machine!) and smiles all around. Its a great way to start the day.
