Home

Night two in the new room. Wall stickers are up, and we drew on the white board wall.
Actually, there is a very funny story about the white board wall. We went to Staples yesterday to get white board markers. After that, we went for lunch/dinner (linner?) at China Buffet. When the Little Man is done, he is done. I was on my way back with my second plate when the Little Man announced quite loudly, "Mommy! You do not need two plates!" Guess that's his way of telling me I need a diet...

Got rid of a lot more stuff yesterday. Cleaned out the linen closet, and the top of the bedroom closets (lots of silly storage). I got rid of the pictures that I had hanging over my bed-which I never really liked to begin with. Instead, I am going to put up a picture that we bought when we moved into our house that matches the color scheme I want in there. I like pinks and greens and light blues, and I've realized that I was trying to like something else, that I don't.

The next step in our Extreme Makeover:Home Edition is creating a playroom/craft room. I decided on a light green wall with a green and blue geometric border-something that will make both the Little Man and I happy. We will be sharing the space, and I want us to make the best use of the space-for playing and crafting.

Today my boys are going off to the Big Man's friend's farm for a play date. I get to go to the mall and take some stuff back, getting some new pants for the Big Man, and getting my oil changed. Then its off to grocery shopping. Tonight, I am going to be part of a team serving dinner for the guests at the Ronald McDonald House.

For dinner next week, we are going to have:
Monday: pasta, garlicky greens, garlic bread and fake tiramisu
Tuesday: Sesame ginger chicken, fried rice, wontons and mandarin orange fluff
Wednesday: chunky monkey pancakes, minted melon salad, vegetarian sausage
Thursday: firecracker burgers, garlic smashed potatoes, corn on the cob, brownies
Friday: chicken enchiladas, spanish rice and refried beans with tres leches cake.

Little man asked the other day why we don't have dessert, so I am going to remedy that for him. Maybe...after the comment yesterday in the restaurant, I don't think I need it....

There are a few things to putter around the house doing, but not that much. Its the little things that keep the house running smoothly, and I have to remember that every day when I get frustrated and discouraged. Little Man said that it was so nice having room to play in his room, and it being clean. He even willingly cleaned up last night before he went to sleep-which he did on his own before the storms rolled in (again). Puppy dog spent the night in the closet-where he was from the time the weather radio went off.

Looking forward to a quiet day of rest and renewing my spirit-and relaxing. Not that running errands is overly relaxing, but I have to get the stuff done. Its a good way to start the week off right.
