It's Monday, and another crazy week is sure to unfold. Little man has a cold, which is quite unusual, since he doesn't get them really. He gets strep throat & ear infections more than a cold ever. He just feels miserable, and unfortunately there isn't much I can do. It just needs to run its course.
With other infections, I can give him stuff to hurry the healing along.
Yesterday was one of those perfect days that make all the other bs worthwhile. Church was inspiring, and I was proud of.my middle school.kiddos for their Rite 13 ceremony. I got my hair cut (finally). I picked up Panera for lunch. I love that place, but I never go there. So i decided I was there, might as well. I even got my eyebrows done, so I no longer have caterpillars crawling across my face.
Then I added a bunch more music to my ipod. It needed a bit of.an update. I discovered the Avett Brothers, who are folky bluesgrass, which generally isn't my taste, but I really like them. I love WXPN, 88.1 out of Philadelphia. I listen to it on my phone, and it makes me smile. Great music all day long which is great. I've been introduced to.some really great bands over the years, in fact some have become favorites (rilo kiley, neck.case/new pornographers,arcade fire) thanks to listening to that station.
I guess that makes me some.sort.of.late blooming hipster.
Actually, its a psychic tie to my "home". I miss the concept of Princeton more than I miss the actual place. I miss the concept.of nyc more than the physical new York. I think this time of year does it more for me than anything else. It's that fall.going ainto the holidays that makes me wistful.
But that's not to say I don't love my life here. There are so many good things that make better memories for us. For one thing, we became a family!
