Peace like a river

I try to avoid politics on here, because a blog on homemaking and motherhood is not the place to debate (unless your are Sarah Palin, and willing to exploit your family) policy issues.

I am making an exception. Yesterday, there was a mass shooting. Six people, including a 9 year old girl, lost their lives over some kind of statement. I don't know what the shooter was trying to accomplish, other than causing pain, and that is up to the authorities to prove.

What saddens me is the fact that the shooter exhibited mental illness symptoms for a considerable time period. It wasong enough for him to be kicked out of college pending a psychiatric eval.

That didn't happen.

Instead, he shot 19 people.

There is increasing vitriolic rhetoric on both ends of the political spectrum.

What the world needs instead of anger is to seek peace. We all need to look for the light in others, the namaste. We need to let our lights shine and be a beacon for change.

If we all do a downward.dog and take a collective breath, we may transcend one.person's evil.
