Black & Tan

In addition to rock, punk, alternative, contemporary Christian and the other myriad genres I listen to, I also love jazz.
Jazz is my rainy day Sunday soundtrack.
Its my reading the New York Times, laying on my couch music.
It is my I am feeling lazy, so I am going to lay here and listen to this all day music.
I listen to jazz, and I instantly get transported to a different time and place. I go back to my mid-20's, when I lived by myself. After church,

I would stop by Small World coffee and pick up a to go.

Next stop would be McCaffrey's and pick up a prepared meal.

I would go home,

and throw on sweats

and collapse onto the couch. I would read the New York Times, listen to music, take a nap, eat my take out and just enjoy my day. It would be me and my cat.
While those days are a distant memory, the feeling of tranquility I get from the music is instaneous once I put it on. It brings back the feeling of not having to do anything, to just BE.

For my 30 outfits in 30 days challenge, Wednesdays are always the hardest. I need an outfit that would be easy to change in and out of because of my lunchtime yoga class,

and something that transitions easily from day to night, because of church obligations.
It has to be comfortable, because I will be wearing it from 7 AM to about 8:30 or so PM; maybe later if I don't get changed right away. It needs to be business casual, because I am wearing it to the office; and it needs to be casual enough for youth group.

So, yesterday's outfit fit the bill. I wore khaki pants,

a black camp shirt,

 a white tee,

black sandals,

a purple scarf

and some rocking jewelery.

Its cute and I felt cute in it.
