Intervention, Part 3

I love gardening, but mainly due to a lack of time. Also, I have tried to do too much in a small space. There has been a serious lack of focus of what needs to be going on in that space.

I had planted annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, fruits...phew! I am getting tired just thinking about it.

What I truly want is a cutting garden. To me, having fresh flowers in my home is affordable luxury. I want flowers that I can just go out and cut and then arrange.

So, after much thought and planning, I am getting ready to remake my perennial garden.

After planting hemlock, peonies and gladiolus I have space to add more color and depth to my garden.

The next addition will be nepeta or catnip. I have some edges to the garden that need some drama, and the nepeta will add to it. A few clumps and Krazy Kat will be incredibly happy.

In front of the them, I want to add Siberian Iris. Once again, beautiful flowers, love them. They add depth and color. I want to plant 4 clumps of them-dark purple, light purple, white and yellow.

I also want to add some Oriental poppies and English daisies, once again color and pop-plus they look stunning in an arrangement.

Finally, I will add my ground cover. For this I have chosen campanula or bellflower. It’s a spreader, and it will add color
