I am a social media junkie. Those who follow me on Twitter (I can be found @craftychicky, if you are interested), Instagram (as Mommydom), 4Square, You Tube (craftychicky), Pinterest (Mommydom), Facebook (at the Mommydom Chronicles) and more know that I tend to share just about everything. I might even be guilty of oversharing from time to time. Part of it comes from being 1300 miles away from the bulk of my family and friends. I use social media to stay in touch with them, and for us to give a glimpse into each other’s lives. This blog grew out of the lonliness I faced being a new mom with no support. Some friendships have even been strengthened through the power of social media, which is exciting.
All this sharing through social media was a conscious decision on my part. I never moved forward with sharing information that would be embarrassing or hurtful to my family. There have been compromises made along the way, but nothing has been altered or changed. What has not been compromised is the fact that I like to offer a glimpse into my world.
In addition to the main social networks, I have several apps that allow you even more access into my world. Thanks to Songza and Spotify, you can find out what I am listening to-and I can even recommend songs or play lists for you to check out. Viggle allows me to share what I watch on TV. Thanks to Nexercise, you can find out what I am doing to workout and help keep me motivated. Trensy reminds me to socially responsible, and helps me to share the ease of being conscious of making the world a better place. With the Eatery, you can see pictures of what I am eating. Urban Spoon lets me share my favorite restaurants, and Raved lets me share favorite places to go and things to do. Map My Run and you can check out where I go and how far the puppy pushes me! Fooducate allows you a glimpse into my grocery cart. Trendabl shows you what I wear. Vojo and Bloom are my motivators-my wish maps. I share my gratitude and prayer journals with those on my social network, in part to envourage them to pray and be thankful. Re-mindful is another great app to share its ok to take a moment to just breathe and be thankful. My meditation time is shared through Insight Timer. Level Me Up allows me to share my hobby time. Good Reads shares what books I am reading. Swirl lets you see the things I would love to get.
What are your favorite social networks? How much do you like to share?

I'm terrible I tend to overshare but I love taking to people on twitter.
I feel on the other end of the spectrum. I try to share as little as possible of my personal life other than events and feelings. Names, places, people are all shrouded in mystery as best as I can make happen.
thanks for sharing,
stu pidasso
Wow...that is a lot of social media. I try my best to avoid pretty much all social networking.
