On and On

Its Wednesday, and we are once again, halfway through the week. Its been a little crazy so far, between work and family, and all the other activities going on in my world. But its all good.

We picked a paint color for the play/craft room. Its a very soothing green, and I think its going to make a big difference in how I view the space. Basically, I want space to store my now sparse craft supplies and work on projects. I also want room to go and chill out when I need my time outs (or naps) and watch TV when I don't like what the rest of the family is watching. I am very excited about this transformation. Having a new room has made a huge difference for the Little Man. Its clean, its tidy and he loves to play in there.

Last night we had gymnastics. Little Man has been a bit afraid to try some things, but he is beginning to trust his coach more. This is allowing him to try harder and do things that he couldn't (and wouldn't). Last night, he did a front handspring over a barrel (it helps teach proper technique) for the first time. Same thing with doing a backward roll on the bar-he did not trust the coach, so he was afraid to try. Last night he did. So very proud of him.

After gymnastics, we went to the library. Little Man is so excited to pick out his own books, and he has a very definate opinion on what he wants to read. He picked about 20 books, and between the ride home and bedtime, read them all to the Big Man and myself. We are very blessed, because he is such a good reader-and loves to read. Our library has a summer reading program, and it runs from May 30-July 31. Last night, we turned in our form and got our prize package. He was so excited!

Its Wednesday, and its halfway through the week.

We don't have any plans for the weekend. JazzFest is this weekend, but I don't know if we'll go. If we do, I may have the Big Man drop us off, because parking is so crazy. There is also $5 tickets for the Pheasants game Saturday night. Or we could just hang out at home too.

I do want to do a little bit of spa time this weekend. I so definately need it, especially a mani/pedi. I have a foot spa thing, and its one of my favorite toys. I don't use it very often, mainly because I think its too much of a hassle (however, it does make me smile when I do). I love pedicures, actually its more soaking my feet that I love. Theoretically, I could do it every night, and have bliss...I don't have feet problems, its just feels good. I also have a facial steamer thingy, which also is on the blissful side. I love how my skin feels afterward, and the fact that it glows. And even better yet, I have a massager for both my back and my neck (thanks honey!) that makes for a perfect spa experience.
The problem is I just don't do it very often. Its not that I don't "have" the time, I don't make the time. I have the same 24 hours in each and every day, its how I manage my time. Like, spending some time on me-working out, eating healthy, spa time, getting enough sleep-or spending time on my home-cooking healthy meals, tidying up the house, doing laundry, keeping things humming along-or most importantly, spending time with my boys. A lot of "time" I spend doing nothing. That's right, zoning out in front of the TV, working the Blackberry.

But over the last few days, I've heeded my son's advice and put the BlackBerry down. I've been able to accomplish so much lately too. I got so much decluttered, and got so much stuff out of my house. I've forced myself to take a long, hard look at a lot of things in my life and refocus my attention on what's truly important-faith, family and home-and reprioritize everything. Its like I had a total extreme makeover the last few weeks. And I am loving it. I think my family is enjoying it as well.
