Light as a Feather

I love accessories, and one of my favorite websites right now for them is http://www.whippycake.com/. Love the whimsy and freshness of her designs.

But, the crafter in me says, I can make those!

In fact, I found great instructions at http://the-artful-crafter.blogspot.com/2009/08/make-your-own-feathered-hair-clip.html:

Supplies:

• Large black snap hair clip – large works well for thick hair; use smaller clip for thinner hair

• 1 yard of ¼” wide black satin ribbon

• Dritz Fray Check

• Decorative button or small piece of costume jewelry

• Small Elmer’s black and white dotted feathers

• Small Zucker multi brown feathers

• Small Zucker black feathers

• Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue

Instructions:

Open the clip.

Spread Fray Check along one end of the ribbon. Place a dab of glue on the under side at the large flat end of the clip and press the end of the ribbon onto the glue. Let dry about an hour.

When you get to the wide end of the clip lay one last small feather over the end. Glue the button over the last feather’s bare shaft.

Let dry several hours.
