Our VBS theme this year was Sky-where our kiddos learned that everything is possible with God. Since I work full time during the day, as do most of my volunteers, we offer our program in the evening.
Most kiddos wouldn't get a chance to eat before coming, so we provide dinner. My parish has some pretty awesome cooks, and our kiddos were well fed.
I made, as dessert, clouds and sky jello.
To make you need:
4 boxes blue jello
Water
Cool whip
Make the jello, following the jiggler directions on the package. Pour into 9x13 pan, let cool & set. Cut into cloud shapes and put into cups. Top with cool whip and serve

Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity. Margaret D. Nadauld

Saturday Surfing

I love shabby chic and am always looking for an inexpensive way to do it. These decorated mason jars found here at Homespun with Love are so adorable!
I am known around the little man's school as the cupcake angel/diva/queen, so you know if says cupcake, I am ALL over it! Like this ADORABLE cupcake tile from Southern Fairy Designs.Father's Day is next weekend, and I am always looking for great ideas, as I mentioned here a while back. I saw these maple bacon cupcakes and I think we have breakfast all taken care of that morning!
One of my favorite websites to drool over, with tons of GORGEOUS dresses is the Shabby Apple. They are amazing and beautiful dresses. These two are my favorites:
However, I am not one to spend that much money on clothes, so I am always looking for a cheaper alternative. I found a great tutorial shabby apple wannabe at Suburbsmama. Too cute and well done!
They both look amazing!
I grew up in Salt Lake City, which explains a lot about me and some of the things I love. One is my avid love of jello. No kidding, in Home Ec in junior high, we learned to make jello about 100 different ways. This is not your home ec jello
I saw this and it made me almost want to run right out and do it. (I said almost) but this is such a great idea and a nice touch too.
I am in the process of re-imagining our bedroom. Its a little blah, and quite frankly, I am BORED with it. I saw this today at Target
and I REALLY like it. Its nice, and a bit of a compromise for both of us. I got wall art at Hobby Lobby today which I can't wait to put up. Even though we have been married for like, forever, I still have the giddiness of a newlywed.
So I saw this and thought, wow what a great decor idea-it would go really well with the lettering and the new comforter that I think might come home next weekend.
Super duper simple too!
I do have a new project I want to try, so off to create
Lots of weekend inspiration!!
