Calling all Angels

One of the archangels I have struggled working with is Zadkiel, the angel of forgiveness, mercy and benevolence. I struggle with forgiveness issues, and I know that it is a shortcoming in my life. I try not to hold grudges, but some of my life experiences have caused me to not always be as merciful as I could be. Forgiveness doesn’t always come easy to me, especially forgiving myself.  Despite being in therapy off and on over nearly three decades, I haven’t gotten to the point of complete emotional healing.

Self esteem plays into most of it, and that feeling of not being good enough. I hold myself to a pretty high standard, and when I don’t live up to that, I come down pretty hard on myself. That perfectionist behavior has hindered me over the years, but I am working very hard to change those ingrained habits. I know I *should* work with Zadkiel more to move healing along, but fear also plays into it. I am quite fearful of releasing those grudges and that pain and being free of bondage. I never lived my life like that, and it is a very scary proposition for me. One of the things I do when I plan on working with her is I surround myself with amethyst crystals. I also envision the person or situation I need to forgive in purple light and I work on wishing them well and sending them love.

Out of all the angels I work with, Zadkiel inspires the most journaling and the most emotional responses.

Lips of an Angel

I fancy myself as an artistic, creative person. Heck, my twitter handle is Craftychicky, for a reason. I love making things and the whole artistic process.

However, it's not always consistent and I tend to go in bursts of that kinetic energy. Since I have been calling on archangel Jophiel, who is responsible did manifesting beauty and supporting artistic projects, I feel more inspired. 

I also call on her when I'm working on manifesting beauty, hope and joy. I envision golden light surrounding me and helping me right my ship when I don't exactly feel beautiful or joyful. 

Jophiel is also who I work with when I'm clearing the clutter in my life, both physical and metaphysical. I meditate, focusing on her before I tackle those big cleaning projects or when I am eliminating some of the distractions in my life.

The Warrior

Michael is the Archangel most people are familiar with. He has his own feast day (Michaelmas) in the Catholic Church.

He is usually pictured as a warrior angel, with a sword. The name means He who is like God. Michael is responsible for providing protection and direction as well as helping with self esteem, motivation, courage, commitment, faith, energy, vitality, life’s purpose and releasing fear. I find myself asking for his guidance when I'm feeling down on myself and I need a pick me up.When I feel my energy dipping, especially in the late afternoons, I say a quick prayer for a boost.

 I start my morning and end my day with a prayer for protection to Michael. I ask that myself and my family be held in a blue bubble. I envision that bubble surrounding our home, us, our cars/bikes/school bus and I try to hold that vision of the bubble all day.

She Talks to Angels

Raphael is the Archangel of Healing-phyiscal, mental, emotional and spiritual.

I have spent a lot of time with Raphael over the years. During my mother’s surgeries

and while my husband has been hospitalized,

Or even me being sick 

I prayed to Raphael. I would imagine the operating or hospital being flooded with green light. I visualized green blankets being placed on my loved ones, and being surrounded in a green bubble, which is the color most associated with Raphael.

I also call on him as I work on my own personal healing from overeating and emotional eating. He is also the Archangel who provides healing on levels, guidance & support for healers, clairvoyance as well as finding lost pets.

 

The gemstones most associated with Raphael are jade or aventurine. When my husband was ill, I placed a piece of jade in between the mattress and boxspring, and since then he has not had any issues. Coincidence? Maybe.

Gabriel's Message

One of my favorite parts of the Annuciation story is the Archangel Gabriel appearing to Mary.

Artists throughout history have depicted this miraclous event, which is a great reminder how the Divine interacts with our lives. Gabriel is the messenger angel, depicted in white light.

 

 His role is to help with all communication. He is the angel who assists with communication, journalism, writing as well as adoption, conception and fertility.

 

The crystals and gemstones most associated with Gabriel are moonstone and clear quartz

 

His angelic day is Friday

 

When I sit down to write, even when I am journaling, I say a quick prayer to Gabriel. I aso work with Gabriel when I know I have a presentation to make or if I know I need to have a conversation where I need to communicate well. Gabriel is also who I go to when I get the phone call from DSS regarding a potential foster care placement.

I use it whenever I work with him, with pretty awesome results.
