Swing

My grandmother used to use a pendulum when I was a kid, but I never really thought about it until I was much older. She used to use it like a parlor game, rather than for divination or anything else. It wasn’t until fairly recently that I really began to understand it more. I belonged to a spiritualist group headed by the late Georgi Streetman, and one of the skills she taught us to use was a pendulum. At first I was very skittish. I had some bad experiences with a Ouija board back in the day, and I didn’t want to open the door to lower vibration entities. The most important thing you need to do is to surround yourself with protective, white light. Technically, you are working with your higher self or spirits, but it’s your subconscious mind that is moving the pendulum around.

You can use anything as a pendulum. I have one that I purchased, but my grandmother used a string and some sort of lug nut. Others use their wedding bands on string. I’ve even used my keys in a pinch. It needs a length of string or chain and a weight at one end. When you first start using a pendulum, you need to figure out what directions are being used so you can get answers. You only need to do this once with your pendulum. You need to determine the yes, no, kind of, don’t know, can’t say and ask later directions. The next step is to ask several simple questions you already know the answer to like my name is (fill in) I have (eye color) etc to make sure the directions are working right. You can also use a circle graph to help keep track of answers.

The most important things to remember when you are working with a pendulum are wording and intent. Make sure you ask your questions clearly and concisely. Don’t mess with the pendulum if you already know the answer and just want to “test” it. Don’t ask the same question multiple times during a session, because you are showing doubt. Remember you are tapping into your subconscious with this, so if you have a preferred answer (like with the sex of a baby), the pendulum may lean in that direction, regardless of what the truth is.

The most important thing is never use the pendulum for gambling. That is just not cool, and you are not going to be happy with the outcome. It’s just a huge don’t. Also, don’t use it for bad or ill purposes. That’s not cool either. Once you have been working with your pendulum, don’t let others use it because its tuned to you.

Some things you can use a pendulum for:

TO FIND SOMETHING LOST:
In a Room - hold the pendulum and ask where the object is located. The pendulum will swing in the direction of the lost object.

In a House - Ask the pendulum, room by room, i.e., is it in the kitchen? yes/no, bathroom and so on until you narrow it down. Then go into the room and section it off.

Outside:
Ask - "Am I facing the right direction to find... If the pendulum swings foreword or backward, you are moving in the right direction. In circles, move with the circle slowly, until it swings foreword and backward.

HEALTH:
Ask about each area of your body or ask the aura of someone you want to know about. Keep narrowing down the questions with each answer

RELATIONSHIPS:
A pendulum can tell you all sorts of things about other people. A photo or personal item of the person in question is a big help, but is not necessary. Just hold the pendulum over the item and ask questions.

PLACES TO GO TO SHOP OR GET REPAIRS DONE:
Just open the phone book and ask where is the most inexpensive and the best quality place for what you want. Name places and the pendulum will answer yes/no. A pendulum can also be helpful in diagnosing car trouble before pulling everything apart or taking it to a shop.

Angels from the Realms of Glory

Typically, angels are beings of light that have not lived on earth before. (The exceptions are Sandalphon & Metatron). Their role is to uplift, encourage and comfort us when we are in need. some deliver important messages to us, or to facilitate some specific healing we may be in need of. They also provide inspiration in the form of ideas for certain projects we may be here to complete.

Angels love to teach and are brilliant teachers. If you are willing and open to learn, they will teach you. One of the great things about angels is that they never give up. Even if we give up on ourselves, the angels never will. I don’t know where they get the patience from.

In the early stage of teaching you how to communicate, the angels will teach you using trivial things.  The angels use ordinary, everyday things as teaching tools. Don’t over complicate matters. The angels will tell you when to look for meaning.

Angels are very good at giving signs. If you are starting out, ask for a small sign. Keep asking, too. Be alert for signs! A person asking for help may feel a gentle breeze flowing across the room, sometimes coins mysteriously appear, or you'll hear a certain song on the radio.

Thanks to Doreen Virtue, we have guidelines to help us develop a relationship with the angelic realm:

  • Meditate more often.

  • Curb negative thoughts and words about yourself, others and/or life in general. Stay out of the "poor me" energy loop.

  • Be kind to yourself, others, animals and nature.

  • Forgive.

  • Connect with nature and Mother Earth: trees, the ocean, etc...

  • Work with crystals, flower essences, crystal elixirs andcolor therapy.

  • Get energy work such as Reiki.

  • Get bodywork such as massage.

  • Avoid drugs and alcohol.

  • Read books and take classes that seek to enlighten you.

  • Get help from a licensed professional counselor to help you in areas where you are "stuck" in the past.

  • Watch your diet. Too much meat, dairy and chemicals can lower your vibration.

  • Create harmony in your surroundings. Uncluttered your space, play beautiful music, put uplifting colors on the walls, tend to well loved and cared for plants and animal companions.

  • Create harmony in relationships. Try to surround yourself with people who uplift you, not drain you.

  • Ask the angels to help you raise your vibration - they will!

PRAYER TO LIVE A MORE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE by Doreen Virtue
Dear Angels, please surround me with your healing energy, and help me to heal my cravings for unhealthful foods and drinks. Please remove my desire for toxic substances, and help me to have the motivation to live and eat healthfully. Please guide me while shopping, preparing and eating food, and give me guidance about how to live without polluting myself or my world. With great love and gratitude, I thank you.

Fly to the Angels

There are at least seven archangels, depending on who you are referencing. Most sources consider eight, possibly nine, with the inclusions of Metatron and Sandalphon. Some consider them to be ascended masters as they were said to have lived as the prophets Enoch and Elijah respectively. I consider Metatron to be an archangel in terms of my belief system. He is considered to be the angel of life, recording our deeds in the Book of Life. Most of our understanding of Metatron, comes from the Kabbalah and the apocryphal Book of Palaces.

Metatron is part of new age philosophy with his cube. It is a figure made of 13 equal circles with lines going from the center of the circle to 12 other circles. It is considered the most sacred piece of sacred geometry and is considered a representation of the tree of life.

Metatron is the angel who holds the link between human and divine. Many go to Metatron for help discovering personal spiritual power. I spend time with him in hopes of making the world a better place and bring glory to God.

He is the patron for Indigo and Crystal children. Indigos are considered strong willed, headstrong, creative,  probably diagnosed with ADD or ADHD and were born after 1978. Crystals are easy going, most tend to be vegetarian, usually non-verbal until 3 or 4, have issues with chemicals and environmental pollutants, and tend to be placed on the autistic spectrum. Several of my new age friends have told me (one is quite persistent about it) that the Little Man is a Crystal child. Without going into much detail, he and I do have a telepathic type bond (I think all moms develop that, especially living life on the spectrum)

Taps

I have an acquaintance that I see in yoga quite frequently. A few years ago, she was raving about how she lost weight by using EFT. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, or tapping. Sure, tapping on my head and in my arm pit is going to help me lose weight.  I thought she was nuts, but hey if it worked for her, great. She told me about the book she read, and the websites I could check it out for myself.

Fast forward a few years, when I had an opportunity to explore EFT further at AT Vitality, I decided to explore it a little further. I was still quite skeptical, but was willing to give it a whirl. I was not convinced that tapping on certain body parts was going to solve any of my problems, but what did I have to lose? I met with Teresa and figured I would give it a whirl. I wanted to work on losing weight, since I was going to do something, let’s go big or go home. I know I have an issue with emotional eating, so
I thought it would be an area that I could either tell something was shifting or not. My relationship with food goes way back, and I count among my close personal friends Little Debbie as well as Ben & Jerry. It was going to take more than tapping on my head to change my mind.

Teresa and I visited for a little bit about the process and what I was hoping to achieve. She thought being a size 2 was a bit lofty of a goal, but we could start to make progress. After identifying what my main issue was for the session, I had to determine how intense it was on a scale of 0-10, with 0 being no problem and 10 being the worst.

From there, we developed a set up statement. This is was the hardest part for me, to be completely honest. With your set up statement, you need to acknowledge the problem (in my case, stuffing my feelings with food) and to state that you accept yourself despite it. I was lying through my teeth when I said I supported myself in spite of my issue.

There is a specific sequence in which you tap

You tap the karate chop point on the side of your hand, saying the  set up statement

Then it’s the

Top of the head

Eyebrow

Side of eye

Under eye

Under the nose, above the lip

Chin

Collar bone

Arm pit

As you tap these different points, you use a reminder phrase, which is restating your issue. I felt really weird tapping, and I won’t lie that was a big struggle for me, especially sitting across from someone.

After you go through this a few times, you check back about the intensity.  We did this a few times, and then I got a reiki session (which was phenomenal). I got to go home with my EFT recipe and practice on my own and then meet back in a few weeks.

As I tapped on my own, I began to notice a bunch of emotions and memories being dredged up from the muck & mire. Many of them were situations that caused me to run to the refrigerator.  Even though it was decades later, I never dealt with those issues. I did cry a lot over the  tapping. My husband thought I was more crazy than usual, but was glad that I was working through it all. It was hard confronting all that pain and all that garbage that I had been holding onto for years, but in the end it was worth it.

It’s been almost six months now since I started tapping, and I am proud to say I have not drowned my sorrows in junk. I’ve been working on alternatives and working through the issue rather than suppressing it. Being skeptical in nature, I didn’t think that this would work for me, but I was pleasantly surprised at how effective EFT is.

Angel on my Shoulder

Archangel Uriel, God’s light, is an archangel that I am just starting to work with. Over the years, I really should have called on him to help me find insight, clarity and peace with life situations. He is the angel that can help release emotional and thought patterns that keep us stuck. It is really hard to let go of certain behaviors and ways of thinking because it’s a comfort level (no matter how destructive or dangerous they can be). For me, anger is usually my first response to a challenging or difficult situation. Its not so much that I am angry per se, in reality there is a lot of fear. I need to work on controlling the anger and fear and instead let peace and clarity into my life.

I am teaching my son to call on Uriel during those moments of autistic meltdown. I encourage him to surround what is the cause of the meltdown in a red bubble and trap it there. Visualization is a very strong tool to have in your toolbox, and can help manage most situations and emotional responses. Another situation that I am teaching the little man to call on Uriel for is during a test. I am helping him visualize the answers being surrounded by a red bubble and be able to see the correct choice.

You're my Angel

I grew up in a family where there wasn't much of a difference between the physical and metaphysical planes.
My grandmother and her sisters regularly talked about having visions and seeing angels and communing with the dead. I never had any doubt, thanks to Grama, that I had a guardian angel who was with my all the time.
I am sure my angel spends a lot of time face palming, just because I can do some pretty stupid things, but I am human.

When I went to school, I began to realize that not everyone was exposed to the same things I was. I learned to shut that side off and not talk about it, for fear of being picked on. I stopped talking to my guardian angel, and tried to forget about the metaphysical side of life. There has always been a tugging in that direction, but I ignored it. After I met my husband, a fairly devout Catholic, and when I was studying youth ministry I tried to pretend angels live in the heavenly realm and really don't have much interaction with mere mortals.

I should mention that I was also going through some of the darkest periods of my life during this time. I should have been calling on my guardian angels, but instead I toughed it out. (live and learn, I suppose) It was after I became a mother myself that I realized that not only were these stories part of our family history, they were part of our faith journey. I want my son to call on his guardian angel when he needs to. (or just talk to them too. Nothing wrong with that) The older I get, as well, the more I need the reassurance that someone is looking out for my best interests.

Guardian angels are sometimes confused with "spirit guides." A spirit guide is a loving being who has lived upon the earth in human form. This person then received special training in the afterlife about how to become a spirit guide. This training emphasizes that the guide is not to interfere with your free will or make decisions for you.
The guide is there to give you general advice, comfort, and at times warning and protection. Most spirit guides are deceased loved ones.
Your spirit guide may have passed-away in the physical life before you were born. However, this loving being was there at your birth and has been with you every day of your life since.

Calling all Angels

One of the archangels I have struggled working with is Zadkiel, the angel of forgiveness, mercy and benevolence. I struggle with forgiveness issues, and I know that it is a shortcoming in my life. I try not to hold grudges, but some of my life experiences have caused me to not always be as merciful as I could be. Forgiveness doesn’t always come easy to me, especially forgiving myself.  Despite being in therapy off and on over nearly three decades, I haven’t gotten to the point of complete emotional healing.

Self esteem plays into most of it, and that feeling of not being good enough. I hold myself to a pretty high standard, and when I don’t live up to that, I come down pretty hard on myself. That perfectionist behavior has hindered me over the years, but I am working very hard to change those ingrained habits. I know I *should* work with Zadkiel more to move healing along, but fear also plays into it. I am quite fearful of releasing those grudges and that pain and being free of bondage. I never lived my life like that, and it is a very scary proposition for me. One of the things I do when I plan on working with her is I surround myself with amethyst crystals. I also envision the person or situation I need to forgive in purple light and I work on wishing them well and sending them love.

Out of all the angels I work with, Zadkiel inspires the most journaling and the most emotional responses.

There is a great you tube video featuring a meditation on forgiveness that I recommend:http://youtu.be/LiDzATgVvfE

Angel

I don't want to play favorites with the archangels, but Chamuel is the hippie angel, so I just adore her.

She is the angel of unconditional love and adoration. She's your go to gal for help building and strengthening relationships, seeking soul mates and world peace.
I think of her being the archangel helping guide my life and life principles. Her name means those who seek God, and what better relationship to have (and unconditional love!) than with The Divine.
I spend a lot of time meditating and working with her, which makes me a better wife and mother. I know it's time to hang with Chamuel when I'm becoming that snippy, naggy wife or mom. I surround my beloveds in a pink light-as well as myself-and focus on love.

Lips of an Angel

I fancy myself as an artistic, creative person. Heck, my twitter handle is Craftychicky, for a reason. I love making things and the whole artistic process.

However, it's not always consistent and I tend to go in bursts of that kinetic energy. Since I have been calling on archangel Jophiel, who is responsible did manifesting beauty and supporting artistic projects, I feel more inspired.

I also call on her when I'm working on manifesting beauty, hope and joy. I envision golden light surrounding me and helping me right my ship when I don't exactly feel beautiful or joyful.

Jophiel is also who I work with when I'm clearing the clutter in my life, both physical and metaphysical. I meditate, focusing on her before I tackle those big cleaning projects or when I am eliminating some of the distractions in my life.

I love this guided meditation to use with her http://youtu.be/983noZaD2I8

The Warrior

Michael is the Archangel most people are familiar with. He has his own feast day (Michaelmas) in the Catholic Church.
He is usually pictured as a warrior angel, with a sword. The name means He who is like God. Michael is responsible for providing protection and direction as well as helping with self esteem, motivation, courage, commitment, faith, energy, vitality, life’s purpose and releasing fear. I find myself asking for his guidance when I'm feeling down on myself and I need a pick me up.
When I feel my energy dipping, especially in the late afternoons, I say a quick prayer for a boost.

I start my morning and end my day with a prayer for protection to Michael. I ask that myself and my family be held in a blue bubble. I envision that bubble surrounding our home, us, our cars/bikes/school bus and I try to hold that vision of the bubble all day.

There is a great prayer you can use:
Lord Michael to the left of me, Lord Michael to the right
Lord Michael in front and Lord Michael behind;
Lord Michael above and Lord Michael below
Lord Michael, Lord Michael, wherever I go!

I love Doreen Virtue's meditation on Michael: http://youtu.be/3FTigPVCgV8

She Talks to Angels

Raphael is the Archangel of Healing-phyiscal, mental, emotional and spiritual.

I have spent a lot of time with Raphael over the years. During my mother’s surgeries
and while my husband has been hospitalized,
Or even me being sick
I prayed to Raphael. I would imagine the operating or hospital being flooded with green light. I visualized green blankets being placed on my loved ones, and being surrounded in a green bubble, which is the color most associated with Raphael.

I also call on him as I work on my own personal healing from overeating and emotional eating. He is also the Archangel who provides healing on levels, guidance & support for healers, clairvoyance as well as finding lost pets.

The gemstones most associated with Raphael are jade or aventurine. When my husband was ill, I placed a piece of jade in between the mattress and boxspring, and since then he has not had any issues. Coincidence? Maybe.

Doreen Virtue has a great meditation on healing from addiction ( it helped with my emotional eating!) that I highly recommend: http://youtu.be/yrWCWJDF9LA

Gabriel's Message

One of my favorite parts of the Annuciation story is the Archangel Gabriel appearing to Mary.

Artists throughout history have depicted this miraclous event, which is a great reminder how the Divine interacts with our lives. Gabriel is the messenger angel, depicted in white light.

His role is to help with all communication. He is the angel who assists with communication, journalism, writing as well as adoption, conception and fertility.

The crystals and gemstones most associated with Gabriel are moonstone and clear quartz

His angelic day is Friday

When I sit down to write, even when I am journaling, I say a quick prayer to Gabriel. I aso work with Gabriel when I know I have a presentation to make or if I know I need to have a conversation where I need to communicate well. Gabriel is also who I go to when I get the phone call from DSS regarding a potential foster care placement.

I love Doreen Virtue's prayer to Gabriel:

“Dear God and Archangel Gabriel, thank you for giving me the courage, focus, and motivation to write. Thank you for helping me hear true Divine messages that I can express through the written word.”

I use it whenever I work with him, with pretty awesome results.

When I meditate on Gabriel-when I need guidance or assistance in his areas of expertise-I envision bright, white light surrounding me. I also found a great guided meditation on YouTube: http://youtu.be/KQTR37BbO4U that works well for me.

1234

I have been an accountant for over 20 years, so I obviously like numbers. Math was always my strong subject (even though I loved history and English more). A combination of my love of New Age stuff and numbers is numerology. Originally discovered by the great Greek mathematician, Pythagoras, it is a method of divination. According to numerology, each number holds particular attributes or gematria. There are different ways to calculate, but I use the Pythagorean.

  • 1 = a, j, s,
  • 2 = b, t,
  • 3 = c, l, u,
  • 4 = d, m,
  • 5 = e, n, w,
  • 6 = f, o, x,
  • 7 = g, p, y,
  • 8 = h, q, z,
  • 9 = i, r,

based on Pythagorean Numerology, which is the original numerology and was created by the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras

  • k = 11
  • v = 22

 From the website: http://www.spiritual-path.com/numerology.htm

Number 0 - Limitless, Unity, Nothingness, Boundless, Truth, Purity, Love, All, Alpha and Omega, Possibility, First Cause, Unmanifest, Breath of God, Unified Field, Source, Space, Consciousness, Cosmic Egg, God.

Number 1 - Beginning, New, Focused concentration, Goal-striving, Action, Independence, Originality, Courage, Invention, Leader, Self-reliant, Ambition, Pioneer, Will, Conscious Mind, Positive.

Number 2 - Duality, Division, Polarity, Choice, Gestation, Cooperation, Service, Harmony, Support, Waiting, Diplomacy, Patience, Psychic, Intuition, Adaptable, Empathic, Partnership, Mediator, Comparison, Receptive, Helper, Collecting, Reproduction, Balancer of Opposites, Subconscious Memory, Positive and Negative.

Number 3 - Trinity, Union of Divine plus Human, Manifestation, Positive, Negative and Neutral, Expression, Subconscious Mind/Imagination, Creative, Optimistic, Enthusiasm, Expressive, Charming, Humor, Fun, Attractive, Friendly.

Number 4 - Practical, orderly, patient, logical, hard-working, loyal, builder, steadfast, frugal, responsible, earthy, planner, materially creative, green thumb, even tempered.

Number 5 - Adventure, change, freedom, exploration, variety, sensuality, unattached, curious, experienced, periodicity, knowledge seeker, knowledge teacher, traveller, imagination, child-like, playful.

Number 6 - Harmony, beauty, nurturing, love, marriage, family, responsibility, understanding, sympathy, healing, empathic, perfectionist, order, duty, comfort, service.

Number 7 - Philosopher, sage, wisdom seeker, reserved, inventor, stoic, contemplative, aloof, deep-thinker, introspective, spiritual, faith, esoteric, exotic, unusual, hidden, seeking perfection, ethereal, other worldly, enigma.

Number 8 - Achievement, abundance, executive, strength, self-disciplined, power, success, authority, psychology, entrepreneur, intensity, supervisor, provider, grandeur, material manifestor.

Number 9 - Endings, completion, humanitarian, compassionate, romantic, selfless, generous, philanthropic, loving, wisdom, idealist, artistic, spiritual healer, all allowing, other worldly, blending

I find it intriguing that my life path number is 2, no matter how I play around with my name. I’ve calculated using my maiden name only, my married name only, both names and I always wind up with a 2. I am definitely am a 2. My husband is a 3, and that describes him, but not as succinctly as me being a 2.
